Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to spearhead their remote operations and ensure adherence to the highest safety and environmental standards. This role demands a proactive individual with a comprehensive understanding of EHS regulations and best practices. You will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and overseeing EHS programs designed to protect our employees, the environment, and our company assets. This is a remote-first position, requiring exceptional communication and organizational skills to manage EHS initiatives across various sites and functions without direct physical oversight.

Responsibilities: Develop and implement comprehensive EHS policies and procedures tailored for remote and hybrid work environments. Conduct remote risk assessments and identify potential hazards across all operational areas. Oversee and manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and local EHS regulations. Develop and deliver engaging EHS training programs for a geographically dispersed workforce. Manage emergency preparedness and response planning. Promote a strong safety culture through engagement, communication, and visible leadership. Maintain EHS documentation and records, including permits and reporting. Liaise with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders. Regularly review and update EHS management systems to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement. Provide expert advice and guidance on EHS matters to senior management and operational teams. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in EHS management, preferably in a multi-site or complex operational environment. In-depth knowledge of Canadian EHS legislation and standards. Proven experience in developing and implementing successful EHS programs. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Strong project management and organizational abilities. Proficiency in EHS management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote setting.
