Data Science Manager, Safety

In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of data scientists to develop and implement strategies for detecting and preventing harmful behaviors on our platform. Lead and manage a team of data scientists to develop and implement strategies for detecting and preventing harmful behaviors on the Discord platform.

Use your expertise in data science to analyze and interpret data, identify patterns and trends, and make data-driven decisions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and community safety, to develop and implement solutions for maintaining a safe and positive online environment.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in data science and community safety to continuously improve and update strategies and processes.

Effectively communicate complex data and insights to non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership, to drive decision-making and prioritize safety initiatives.

Foster a culture of innovation, learning, and collaboration within the data science team.

Develop and maintain key performance metrics and dashboards to track the effectiveness of safety strategies and initiatives.

Conduct regular audits and reviews of safety protocols and processes to identify areas for improvement.

Mentor and provide guidance to team members, helping them grow and develop their skills in data science and community safety.

Represent Discord in industry events and conferences, showcasing our commitment to safety and promoting our data-driven approach to community safety.
